The purpose of the Ashland University Archives is to collect, organize, perserve, index, and make available for research use various types of records and materials related to the Ashbrook Center and Ashland University.

The primary mission of the archival program located at Ashland University is to aggressively acquire, preserve and make accessible to researchers documentary material in two broad but separate areas.

    1. The collection of papers belonging to the John M. Ashbrook Center for Public affairs at Ashland University.  The collecting focus is 20th-century conservative politics.

    2. Documentary material of historical and enduring value which belongs to Ashland University, and acquired for permanent retention.  Such items can include:
       A) Selected publications, reports, administrative records of departments and organizations at  Ashland University.
        B) Private papers and manuscripts of selected individuals illustrating the history of Ashland University.
        C) Publications which provide a narrative history of the university.
        D) Graphic products such as photographs, slides, drawings etc. which will visually document the history and life of Ashland University.
