Glass Slides collection
The following images are taken from a collection of glass slides.  Some of the views shown here represent the earliest pictures taken of Ashland College.  The coloring noted in some of the images was done by hand painting the individual slides.
1920 gate at the Grant Street entrance to Ashland College.
This view of Ashland College dates from 1881.  Note the small pine trees planted along the front walk in this image.  Today four of these trees still stand in the same location.  The two buildings are Founders Hall with the tower and the residence hall.
This view of the front campus dates from 1920.
This is the 1918 master plan for Ashland College.  At the time this plan was completed both College Avenue and Grant Street did not extend to there present location today.  Starting with the front corner building-this was to be the music building, next is the chapel, behind that was the residence hall, Founders Hall, next to that is the admisitrative building and behind is the college gym.
Taken about 1920 this view shows the campus looking from the NW.  The land next to the front of the picture was used as a goat pasture for Drs. J. Allen Miller and L. L. Garber.
In 1910 this aerial view of the campus was taken looking from the NW.  The building shown here are the old gym, residence hall and Founders Hall.
This is the A Drive which went behind Founder Hall, this road was used to deliver coal for heating Founders Hall.  This slide depicts a black and white view. This is the same slide with the colors applied by hand painting the slide.
